Heartset; Maybe Humans Crave Certain Feelings, not Drugs Themselves

That’s a pretty interesting suggestion.  It’s probably not a new one but I sure don’t hear anyone talking about that.  It would mean that you crave the way a drug makes you feel not the drug itself. For me, it’s like craving a song I love. Music is food for me as is dancing or moving my body.

You may say, “Well yeah!” Pardon me if my realization sounds naive or conservative.  I’m not.  I’m an extremely liberal woman but I was born sober, so obviously I’m liberal intellectually, in speaking, and in friendships, not in my hobbies.  I have never craved drugs and when I do try them they don’t affect me.  Go figure.  I’ve used alcohol, been buzzed many times and only drunk once. It does nothing for my feelings at all nor does it make my body change much, good or bad. I’ve used pot maybe five times and it doesn’t affect me. I’ve used different kinds of tobacco and I like the smell of it because it reminds me of jazz, but that’s it. I cannot relate to craving a drug to make my feelings change. That’s as odd to me as thinking that changing my clothes will change my personality.  It’s extremely irrational and makes no sense to me.

I AM exceedingly familiar with my feelings changing though, a lot!!  My feelings have always swung this way and that naturally ever since I’ve been a child.  I am in touch with a range of feelings that as a professionally trained actor, I’m able to evoke or bring to the surface quite easily.  So, it must just be my personality; the way my brain works. It does run in my family, being theatrical, but we are also counselors, therapists, and mediums.  I’m also a musician.  I come from an emotionally expressive family so that was seeded in my subconscious in utero.

What all of this is bringing to light is the fact that if you have an expressive art you can imbibe in, maybe those feelings you’re craving will start flowing and your drug craving may go down.  We all need to let our feelings out.  And what about sex?  I know women tend to be more emotional during sex than men if men are at all, but more sex would be good for women then. Most women are as comfortable with sexual feelings as they are with taking a shower or feeling ill.  It’s just part of having a body.  I know this is diametrically opposed to men.

Men, I don’t know how you deal with your feelings other than drinking.  My 19-year-old son tells me that men do get emotionally attached in relationships even though males don’t get emotional during sex itself.  I know that the emotion of sexual tension that occurs when you’re attracted to a female is very uncomfortable for most men and FEAR is your big emotion; maybe even anger at not being able to control the woman’s sexual feelings? That was some inside information I received yesterday that was fascinating.  So, let yourself “be” in a relationship, talking, feeling bonded to other males and females as friends are very therapeutic for guys.  Also, just letting yourself feel the sexual tension with a woman you like.  It doesn’t mean you have to take any major action on it immediately…I guess.

As a female, I don’t really emotionally need friendships as much as I need sex.  I don’t think many women admit that but that’s definitely the case for me.  Or maybe I’m just far more into feeling my body in its natural state than others are. So it’s more important for me to have a partner than many friendships…eventually.

I’ll follow this blog up with my intuition and findings on the sexual tension between men and women and maybe even women and women and men and men.  That should be compelling and timely. The issue seems to be unraveling our society on all levels. It’s about time, right? This male fear and issue of emotional control are called patriarchy; then it manifests in forced sex. Nada. But are women really completely emotionally innocent in all of this? I really don’t know, seriously asking.

Is it possible that the psychology of sexual predation and sexual harassment is a form of sexual tension that is physically out of alignment because of pent-up feelings? Stay tuned.

Re-Program; The Erroneous Line Drawn Between Science and Spirituality

Remember this Philosophy Tree I posted a few posts ago? I love this thing. So let’s go back to the axiom at the top upon which all institutions of higher learning, all over the world, base their system of learning and degree-granting powers; Philosophy.

The major branches of philosophy

All subjects are philosophical. One of the great tenets of philosophy, established by the Greeks, is debate and discussion. It’s pretty anti-social to say, “I’m right, it’s been proven, no more discussion. Go sit down and be quiet.” As objective as a physical scientist attempts to be with their scientific method, coming under the heading “Philosophy of Science”, they are subjective humans and can never be fully free from bias. It’s proven by their emotional outburst of anger if someone wants to have a discussion with them after they make absolute statements and need everyone to agree with them because the philosophy of science is “the truth”. “Playing well with others” learned in kindergarten is a good character attribute to have. I’m not saying I’m an expert at it being a high IQ woman, but I always start out being civil and it devolves from there.

Gender bias is rampant in any STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and math) discussion where a woman needs to have a say. It’s amazingly irrational, sort of proving my point above. I think it’s a good idea to qualify your work and be tolerant of dissent or a different perspective, otherwise, no matter how right you are, you lack integrity because you don’t care how you emotionally affect others.

So, look at that empty white space under “Philosophy of Religion” which comes from Ontology and Metaphysics”?  Go over to the left and the Philosophy of Science branch is loaded.  That is interesting, isn’t it?  Hardcore Newtonian Materialists would say, “That’s because we have hard evidence.” Yes, in your pants, which we women are happy for! but not when we have to earn money in the public workplace and you STILL have hard evidence. I would say it’s because we live in a patriarchal society controlled by money and power in the hands of men in academic institutions who routinely denigrate the scientific method of females in psychology and religion which is spirituality.  They are sciences too!

Now, look at “Philosophy of Mind”.  It sort of waves the right hand over to “Philosophy of Psychology” saying, “Well, there’s this!” with a glass of wine in the left hand having a party with “Philosophy of Religion”.  That’s sort of where we find ourselves in the year 2017.

We don’t have any boxes under Philosophy of Mind and Philosophy of Religion because we don’t have any money to do the experiments. There has been plenty of documentation and proof verifying that the study of Mind, Religion (Theology), Psychology and Parapsychology are worthwhile endeavors, but you can’t see the material manifestation of feelings, thoughts, dreams, and intuitions as easily as you can see a ball rolling down a hill for a physics experiment.  Well, at the very least, our field is much more complicated.  What can possibly be more complicated than studying how Mind manifests as feelings and physical being?

What is really changing now is proof from the quantum physicists that thoughts, feelings, and intuitions DO manifest in the body, literally, and cause illness or wellness, depending on how you align them. Everyone intuitively knows this. We don’t feel we need a double-blind study particularly, just some common sense.

Re-Program; Humans Weren’t Designed to be Rational and We’re Better Thinkers for it.

Science and Intuition

Trust your instincts

“Despite the growing reliance on “big data” to game out every decision, it’s clear to anyone with a glimmer of self-awareness that humans are incapable of constantly rational thought. We simply don’t have the time or capacity to calculate the statistical probabilities and potential risks that come with every choice.

But even if we were able to live life according to such detailed calculations, doing so would put us at a massive disadvantage. This is because we live in a world of deep uncertainty, in which neat logic simply isn’t a good guide. It’s well-established that data-based decisions don’t inoculate against irrationality or prejudice, but even if it was possible to create a perfectly rational decision-making system based on all past experience, this wouldn’t be a foolproof guide to the future.”-Olivia Goldhill

Check out this chart.

Every Single Cognitive Bias

It reminds me of Sheldon on “The Big Bang Theory”.  It kind of paints a picture of autism and OCD behavior, which I’m not judging. The fact that Sheldon skews in favor of cold, hard science and numbs human emotion or social sensitivity is rare. I understand having lived with two different autistic partners.  To me, the brilliance is attractive in some way.  I’m not sure why yet.  Maybe I’m on the spectrum as ADHD? My son thinks so but no one else does.

In the 1970s, two psychologists proved, once and for all, that humans are not rational creatures. Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky discovered “cognitive biases,” showing that humans systematically make choices that defy clear logic.  I believe this is a visual interpretation of the original chart.  It is worth looking at and makes the point that we are by and largely subjective, emotional creatures.  It’s a beautiful thing…to me.

Here is the full article that goes with the “Cognitive Bias Chart”;

Humans weren’t designed to be rational and we’re better thinkers for it.

“Unconvinced? There’s an excellent real-world example of this: The financial crisis. Experts created sophisticated models and were confident that the events of the 2007 crisis were statistically impossible. Gerd Gigerenzer, Director of the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Germany, who studies decision-making in real-world settings, says there is a major flaw in any system that attempts to be overly rational in our highly uncertain world.”

“If you fine-tune on the past with an optimization model, and the future is not like the past, then that can be a big failure, as illustrated in the last financial crisis,” he explains. “In a world where you can calculate the risks, the rational way is to rely on statistics and probability theory. But in a world of uncertainty, not everything is known—the future may be different from the past—then statistics by itself cannot provide you with the best answer anymore.”

“We need hot-headed, emotional decisions

Though calling someone hot-headed or overly emotional is generally a critique of their thinking process, emotions are in fact essential to decision-making. There’s even research to show that those who suffer brain damage in the part of the organ governing emotions often struggle to make decisions. They can weigh up the pros and cons, but can’t come down on one side.”

After reading the whole article, I am in favor of using both my intuition and my rational processes.  Humans have always done that and it’s not a neat 50/50 percent of the time one way or the other.  Everyone is different.  I support the use of the scientific method when it’s appropriate.  It’s not always appropriate!  Yet our patriarchal culture with the male scientists on top uses it to hit us all over the head with a two-by-four to make sure we know that they are in charge, to such an extent that very qualified women in STEM, (Science, technology, engineering, and math), flee the university setting because of extreme gender bias. They’ve done studies. I’m correct.

The males are not in charge of their controlling attitudes in science. It’s not going to last. And many times, they’ve been wrong. Many scientists will agree that it is quite desirable to also employ the intuition, especially if leads us away from militarism.  And there are millions of humane men that are very anti-militaristic.

I’m not going to get into the gender disparity on this issue at the moment, but suffice to say, I believe all of our work, females, and males will benefit from using and having respect for both. But intuition has been derided and disregarded in favor of the Philosophy of Science category and it needs to stop. The Science of Philosophy of the Mind and Psychology needs to be taken into account also.  That is also science.

Re-Program; What Does Cognitive Mean?

The modern meaning of cognitive has to do with mental processing or thinking. The thesaurus puts emotions under cognitive process as well but that’s not working for me based on seventeen years as a professional bodyworker and reiki master.

Emotions don’t come from the mind or the brain nor manifest there. Emotions come from the emotional body and the astral body and manifest in the digestive system and the heart. So emotions are not cognitive; they are cardioactive and digestive which would account for the fact that humans literally feel like their physical heart is broken when they separate from someone they love, they can’t eat, have no appetite, and what they do eat doesn’t stay in.

good chakra imageThe emotional body is hooked to the physical body at the abdominal chakra 2 (the orange circle) through the etheric body which is chakra 1, (the red circle) low back down to the bottom of the feet. The mental body is hooked to the physical body through chakra 3 (the yellow circle) the stomach or solar plexus. There is an energy body attached to all of the chakras as well as a certain type of mind.

The first problem in communication regarding all of this is the assumption that the physical brain is the same thing as the mind. Based on my experience, that is incorrect. The brain is a physical organ, spinning at a different energetic rate of manifestation than the mind. The mind moves between dimensions and is disembodied part of the time.

Our mind is active at night while we dream but our brain has no cognitive activity. They’ve measured it with their electrodes. The physical brain is resting. There is no thinking going on, but there is mental activity from the mind going on, which they don’t know how to measure with their instruments, so to them, it doesn’t exist.

The thesaurus states that the antonym of cognitive is body/physical. There you have the reason our health care system is so materialistic and messed up. It separates the mind from the body. If you’re going to do that you may as well be dead. Many people stuck in materialistic thinking are slowly trying to kill themselves with addictive behaviors that supply instant gratification because they feel that they are only a body, nothing else.

The mind is one with the body. The body is the mind. The body exists because of your mind. In short, your mind, all MIND is eternal or life would be one useless pile of nihilistic crap which makes absolutely no sense at all. A person has to be seriously disconnected to believe that mind dies. The brain dies, not the mind, and some would say, the soul doesn’t die either.

There is much to learn on this topic. To be continued.

Re-Program; The Role of Intuition in the Scientific Method

The Role of Intuition in the Scientific Method

I’ve published an interesting booklet that you can buy on my website by clicking on the far right tab. It’s not very long and I’ve included a nice glossary of physics terms for the novice (like me). I read a lot of physics and love it but I am not a physicist. I wish I was but I came to it kind of late. Dr. Smith is an advocate for acknowledging intuition after working on the Manhattan Project. That would kick believing in rationality alone right out of anyone. Nothing like two atomic bombs killing millions to ruin your ideals about humanity.

The major branches of philosophy

This is a “tree” that shows where intuition fits, historically, into the sciences and how the sciences are actually offspring or children of philosophy.

All intellectual disciplines start with Philosophy.  Ph.D. behind a person’s name means Doctor of Philosophy no matter what field their major is.  Its namesake is Philo of Alexandria who was a Hellenistic Jew who wanted to create harmony, maybe in a contrived fashion?, between Judaism and Greek Philosophy.

  1. Logic-the attempt to codify the rules of rational thought.  Here is where formal, informal, symbolic, and mathematical logic fits.
  2. Epistemology-the study of knowledge itself, which to me sounds like gazing at your navel.  Religionists, agnostics, and atheists exist on this spectrum. Here is where all the branches of religion fit.
  3. Metaphysics-the study of the nature of things. This one is my favorite, of course, being holistic. Branches are cosmology and ontology. Here is where all of the natural sciences fit under cosmology. The life sciences, physical science, physics, astronomy, chemistry, earth.  If these are subdivided, they are fields.
  4. Axiology is the philosophical study of value. It is either the collective term for ethics and aesthetics, philosophical fields that depend crucially on notions of worth, or the foundation for these fields and thus similar to value theory and meta-ethics. Ethics and Aesthetics are it’s two main branches.  On the chart, the box that says Ethics could say Axiology.  Here is where all law science, art, and aesthetics fit.

Intuition comes under ontology and metaphysics, then down to the philosophy of mind, then down to the philosophy of psychology.  You’ll see it sits right on the shelf with the philosophy of science equally. It then goes down that track and merges under the philosophy of science track with the science of psychology.  Psychology is a SCIENCE that comes from the philosophy of mind.  So, let’s have some respect here.  It’s not in a mushy bog.  It has to get through the rigors of the scientific method as well.

You’ll notice the five categories under the philosophy of science. There is a biased preponderance on this category, I believe due to Newtonian materialism. That is shifting now. The field of quantum physics is impressing on all the science categories now and shaking them up. In addition, that one field is also impacting the philosophy of mind, philosophy of religion, AND the parent field of Metaphysics. So give the quantum physicists all the ribbing you want. Those folks are on the leading edge. More power to them.

Body Truth; Women’s and Men’s Brains are Biologically Different

kissing

It’s Biology, Not Socialization

“At the time, it seemed clear to me that any between-sex differences in thinking abilities were due to socialization practices, artifacts, and mistakes in the research, and bias and prejudice. … After reviewing a pile of journal articles that stood several feet high and numerous books and book chapters that dwarfed the stack of journal articles … I changed my mind.”

Why? There was too much data pointing to the biological basis of sex-based cognitive differences to ignore, Halpern says.”

Behavioral Differences

Halpern and others have cataloged plenty of human behavioral differences. “These findings have all been replicated,” she says. Women excel in several measures of verbal ability — pretty much all of them, except for verbal analogies. Women’s reading comprehension and writing ability consistently exceed that of men, on average. They outperform men in tests of fine-motor coordination and perceptual speed. They’re more adept at retrieving information from long-term memory.”

I am a female and all of that is the case for me. Is it for you? In this area particularly, we need to be patient with each other as men and women. Men are seriously behind us in communication and verbalization skills which women need SO much with a partner. We need to be able to talk to each other. Men can’t take it after a while. They just need our bodies, is what I’ve noticed. That can be hard on women who need talking, bonding, and emotion to be turned on. Men only need that some. Some don’t need it at all which is a real problem. But curiously, I’ve heard more men say, when looking for a partner, “I just need to be able to talk to her.” That’s a good thing.

“Men, on average, can more easily juggle items in working memory. They have superior visual-spatial skills: They’re better at visualizing what happens when a complicated two- or three-dimensional shape is rotated in space, at correctly determining angles from the horizontal, at tracking moving objects and at aiming projectiles.

Well, of course, they’re better at aiming projectiles, come on!

Navigation studies in both humans and rats show that females of both species tend to rely on landmarks, while males more typically rely on “dead reckoning”: calculating one’s position by estimating the direction and distance traveled rather than using landmarks.”

It’s Important for Women to NOT Expect Men to Be Like Women. It’s Important for Men to NOT Expect Women to Be Like Men.

“New technologies have generated a growing pile of evidence that there are inherent differences in how men’s and women’s brains are wired and how they work.”

So, here’s to peace and bonding.

Re-Program; Moving from Subconscious to Conscious Mind

brain

Please read this short article.

From the Old Brain to The New Brain

Some of the scientists who study the brain (neuroscientists, behavioral psychologists, etc.) believe the vagus nerve or spindle neurons that connect the prefrontal cortex (new brain) to the insula (old brain) may be the communication superhighway that links the conscious (new brain) to the subconscious (old brain). The subconscious brain may be using this very superhighway to communicate intuition, gut feelings and insight (aha moments) to the conscious brain.”-Thomas C. Corley

The latest neuroscience is investigating and talking about the “new brain” or the “conscious brain”. Humanity has been sitting in and using the subconscious mind for most of our existence (1 million years). The subconscious mind comes from parents, family, town, local provincial environment.  It has totally helped us survive in a tribal world that expects certain behaviors. All of our institutions have grown up around it. It’s a sponge, defines our local reality, and is subjective. There is nothing objective or conscious of the subconscious mind!  It pretty much defines brainwashing and most people’s reality on earth!  But in the case of the evolving brain, that’s a good thing.  You have to understand and be able to get on with the locals to survive. Consciousness doesn’t happen overnight.

But, as we can see by how pluralistic and expressive all people the world over are becoming and boundaries morphing, we see symptoms of humanity moving into the new brain or the conscious mind.  It is just now occurring. Technology linking everyone is sort of the “leg up” here.  We are starting to have unity of mind.  That will morph too as our reality moves into the conscious mind and we express ourselves as individuals who are inter-dependent.

Many that have been working in the holistic, spirituality, or paradigm shift movement have predicted this change since the 1970s, and have been experiencing events that are indicative of moving INTUITION in particular from the subconscious mind to living and manifesting in the conscious mind. The hippies started it. Most of my adult life (35 years from ages 20-54) has been defined by using my intuition IN my conscious mind and pushing my subconscious mind to the background.  That is not usual but that’s what I did. The proof is in my new book “Healer”.  There is no way I would have been able to overstep subconsciously created, “reality-based” events that were foisted on me if I was not residing in my conscious mind.  The Universe had my back and I was cared for.

While it may be true that all thoughts originate in the provincial subconscious mind, those of us that have not accepted our upbringing as the totality of reality, didn’t like or agree with our upbringing, or felt our upbringing fell far short of real love, want to move quickly into our conscious brain, or “new brain” because we’re happier and feel more in charge of setting our destiny.

Intuition “up”

Re-Program; Does Resistance Work?

frog

I might be digging into the oracles foundation for 10,000 years.

No, wait, 20,000 years…or

How old are the human species?

6 million years, our ancestors-approximate. 200,000 years, modern humans

Well, the earth is…4.5 billion years old and we have the DNA from every living thing in our cells that ALLOWED itself to evolve on the Earth before we did.

Every living thing, every plant, worm, insect, animal, and cell that came before us flowed with the soil, the water, the mud, the detritus, the sludge, the fire, and ice…it just….was.

and it allowed itself to be on the earth, working synergistically together, no wrangling or fists, it allowed itself to be what it was because it didn’t have a mirror…to EXAMINE….and think…”What…do….I….think?”

We are a moaning, creaking tower of human thinking.  Towering human intellects decide that resistance is the most constructive course and I’m on the wrong side of the pond or the field if I see it differently.

Maybe human thinking is overrated if it cannot LET the living thing NEXT TO IT JUST BE WHAT IT IS.  These Red people are just confused.  They don’t understand.  Wow, how unacceptable and new for a human being to not understand.  They are evil because they are scared and don’t understand?  You’ve never been scared and not understood something? You’re a THINKER and you always understand everything!

Not everybody thinks all the time.  Some people feel, sense, and intuit all the time. People do different things.

Can I please, just be a blade of grass, or a quiescent pool diving deep because I now have gills?

I’ve decided it makes more sense to devolve so I can stop thinking.

When I think, then I decide to resist…breathing, seeing, feeling, intuiting, knowing-everything that ALLOWED NATURE and it’s cooperation to harmonize before I existed, my thinking is just better.  Not.

Because human beings think so much they’ve stopped feeling so much and knowing so much so that now they are this thing call civilized and think they’ll do civil disobedience to procrastinate jumping into the crystal water and having fun, knowing what they want…

they want their gills back.

My oracle said, “Human resistance works!  Look at this example”  And when I go back millions of years to the beginning of evolution, I was able to take a nap in peace next to a frog.

(The frog is an ancient species, far older than humans, as are many animals and plants.)

Body Truth; Bruce Lipton’s book “The Biology of Belief”

The Biology of Belief

I read Bruce’s 1st edition of this book several years ago when it came out and now finished his latest one with changes just now.  I recommend this new 10th Anniversary Edition.

I was reading it because I’m writing my own book that is a memoir encompassing the first half of my life, with the theme of synchronicity cues I saw throughout my life that helped me navigate family and relationship scenarios.  His recent research on epigenetics and the subconscious mind really opened up another panorama for me as I was raised in a genealogically myopic family.  Ancestry was a very big deal.  It was all well-intended, not to be elitist or biased in any way, as my family heartily embraces other cultures.  But it was still overkill.

In my family, I think the purpose was to sweep some skeletons back into their graves; to portray a picture of our family as better than it was in terms of behavior.  This is nothing new.  Welcome to the human family on this planet!  Everyone wants others to believe they’re better than the other guy, that their family is somehow exceptional.  God, it’s nauseating.

So, here’s the new deal though.  Bruce has scientific study upon a scientific study showing that we are in the 2:98 ratio.  Meaning, 2% of our DNA is from our family and 98% of our DNA is from our environment.  What we hear, learn, see, speak, do, pick up like a sponge and imprint on and continue to morph ourselves on is mostly what makes us who we are.  Your DNA keeps changing after birth and throughout your life.  DNA is not static; it’s active!  Your birth genes are practically squat.  All they did was give you a blueprint for your body, but they don’t control your body.  That’s the first breakthrough.  YOWSA!!  Right?

The 2nd big piece of news is that again, tons of studies have shown that your subconscious mind, as a baby, and even pre-conception, conception, prenatal, and early post-natal are completely formed by your mother and father.  Holy crap Batman, we are SCREWED!  Right? No.  You still have a conscious mind and free will, if you use it and activate it.  What your mother thought, felt, watched, said, experienced, ate, the people she hung around, imprinted your subconscious mind that you have no control over and cannot change.  I thought I was going to fall off of my chair when I read that.  The best thing you can do with this is create a good power-sharing relationship between your conscious self (your will) and your subconscious mind (your programming).

Now, before we all panic, do you really know your facts here?  What year were you born? Now go back 12 months (or so) and FIND OUT, if you don’t already know, what your mother was doing, thinking, feeling, and experienced a few months before you were conceived, and then when you were in utero.  That is if you can. This is big information for you because the way it works is, when you as a personality are not consciously picking your life today, willing the way you want things to go, making decisions, etc., you mind relaxes into vigilant subconscious mode, which  you are not in the least aware of, controlled by…your parents.  Holy crap!!  This is frightening to me. When you wonder why you do something that you did not choose…look at your parents.  You imprinted on it like a sponge in utero!  It’s not your fault and you can’t change it.

I was born in 1963.  My mother’s conscious mind, while I was in utero was in the 1950’s world.  That is accurate.  My house today tends to be retro, I’m traditional, love baking, homemaking, cooking, gardening, eating, Leave it To Beaver nauseating stuff feels natural to me.  I can’t help it!  My conscious, birth personality is the opposite, thank god.  I’m a free spirit gypsy, end of the line hippie, artist, dreamer, holistic, musician.  Ah…that’s better.  June Cleaver with hippie flowers and peace sign tattooed on her back is more like it.  I will be going toward that light from now on.

So, if you want to understand yourself better, take your birth year and go backwards into your mother’s time, her way of thinking, and what mindset she was in when you were in her and you will find some BIG answers.  Secondary to her is your father and then all the others in the home and others around them.
